Peter Weiss's songs that he creates about climate change allow the children in his class to visualize and comprehend a concept that cannot be seen.
One of the songs mentioned in the article that Peter Weiss and his band "The Earth Rangers" perform is about greenhouse gases. The students and Peter Weiss wear clown glasses, Styrofoam balls and pipe cleaners during the performance.
The Styrofoam balls and pipe cleaners represent molecules. According to the article, each molecule represents "the real molecular structure of a greenhouse gas." The song explains the significance of these greenhouse gasses and how it relates to climate change. The rock n' roll jingle and lyrics that elementary children can understand helps to create a fun and educational approach to teaching a complex subject.
This article was very informative. It depicted an example of how to make the subject of sustainability fun and engaging. I agree that music is a very useful tactic that can be used to educate and persuade. This article definitely relates to our class, and our goal to educate college freshmen about the "Green Campus Fund." We need to make "green" something cool and exciting. Any approach that we use to educate others about the "Green Campus Fund" needs to be fun and engaging.

The Climate Change Report #2
Welcome to "The Reports of the Climate Change." A company named Eli Lilly is doing its part to help our environment and as a result fighting climate change.
According to the article, "Greenhouse Gases; Lilly Improves Its Environmental Footprint in Business Operations and Helps Beautify Communities", Eli Lilly set a five-year goal in the beginning of 2008 to become more energy efficient. The company planned to do this by reducing the waste to landfills and reducing water intake.
The company is well on its way to meet their five-year goal. According to the article, by the end of the year 2010 there was a huge reduction in the amount of waste to landfills and water intake. The waste sent to landfills was reduced by about 50 percent, and water intake was reduced by more than 30 percent.
The article states that Eli Lilly was able to do this by "reducing, reusing, and recycling in its business operations,” which was a great strategy for other institutions to follow.
The article was informative. It showed examples of how Eli Lilly set out to become more energy efficient and the measures that they took to meet those goals. Eli Lilly set an example for other institutions, and showed that it is possible for other facilities to do the same.
We all should follow in Eli Lilly's steps and do our parts in fighting climate change. One way students could do this is by voting to pass the Green Energy Fund at their universities, which would help the university to become more energy efficient. This monster is real and if we set goals for ourselves to become more energy efficient we are helping to fight it.
I challenge everyone reading this to try to recycle and reuse more as well. By recycling and reusing we are able to reduce the amount of waste we ourselves send to landfills. By reducing waste sent to landfills we are helping our environment. This is our home, and we must protect and take care of it.

The Climate Change Report #1
Welcome to "The Reports of the Climate Change." The Climate Change is at it again. We as people of this world need to do better in combating this monster!
Climate change has taken on a new tactic. According to the article titled "the opposing effects of climate change and socio-economic development on the global distribution of malaria", climate change is causing the weather in the world to become significantly warmer, and because of this it is "projected to increase the population at risk."
According to the same article, the population is more at risk because mosquitoes thrive in warm climates. With climate change causing the weather to become warmer, it is predicted that more mosquitoes carrying malaria will reproduce and spread the disease.
This article was informative and well written. The article enlightens the reader of one negative effect that climate change has on the environment. The article discussion of the projected at risk population in the past, future and present was useful when trying to understand how the climate change directly can and has affected the spread of malaria.
We as people must stand up to climate change. This monster is out to get us all, and if we do not do better it will win. We can fight this monster by fighting our inner desires to be lazy. I challenge everyone reading this to take a punch at climate change by walking or bicycling more. If we as people try our best not to be lazy and walk or bicycle, instead of driving, we will do our part in fighting climate change.
